Set up a routine and stick with it!

  • Try coming up with a routine for each day of the week and block off times during the day to be able to set aside for essential tasks.

Set Deadlines

  • It might be an important idea to give yourself deadlines for tasks. As students, we have syllabi, so we naturally know when stuff is due. Get a calendar (Google calendar or a regular paper one) and write when assignments are due. You can stick with what was given or write down your own deadlines when you want things to be done. Make sure the goals are reasonable, though, and go with your schedule/ routine that you have made.

Break things down into tasks

  • It’s a lot to try and do everything at once or sit down and focus for long periods. Try doing 20 minutes of studying and 20 minutes of a break (or however long you like). Sometimes we overwhelm ourselves with trying to sit down for hours to complete tasks, which burns us out.
